📌 GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: What is DarkRP?
A: DarkRP is a roleplaying gamemode for Garry’s Mod where players assume roles such as police, criminals, merchants, and more to simulate a city economy and society.

Q: How do I make money?
A: There are many ways! You can print money with printers, run businesses, do criminal jobs like raids and mugging, or work as law enforcement and earn a salary. Explore the F4 menu to find a job that suits you.

Q: How do I change jobs?
A: Press F4 to open the job menu, then click the job you want. Make sure you meet any requirements listed (e.g. VIP status or a specific level).

Q: What are the rules?
A: Check the server rules section on the forums or type !motd in chat in-game. Knowing the rules is YOUR responsibility.

🏠 BUILDING / BASES

Q: Can I build anywhere?
A: You can only build on owned property. Own a door with /buydoor (or press F2) before building.

Q: What are fading doors?
A: Fading doors are commonly used for keypad-secured bases. They are toggled using a bind (like G) and are controlled by keypads for raiders.

Q: How many fading doors can I have?
A: Usually up to 3 fading doors per base are allowed. Check the base rules for updated limits.

Q: Can I build in the street?
A: No, unless you're a job that allows it (like Gun Dealer)

🔫 COMBAT / CRIME

Q: How do I raid?
A: Switch to a job that allows raiding (e.g., Thief, Advaned Thief). Then use tools like lockpicks or keypad crackers to break into bases.

Q: Can I mug/kidnap anyone?
A: Only if you're in a job that allows it. Always follow the mugging/kidnapping rules (e.g., cooldowns, demands).

Q: How do I use a lockpick or keypad cracker?
A: Equip the tool, aim at the door or keypad, and hold left-click to start the action for lockpick and for keypad cracker just press left-click once on the keypad to start the cracking.

Q: What’s RDM, NLR, and FearRP?

• RDM – Random Deathmatch (killing without RP reason)

• NLR – New Life Rule (don’t return or remember your death for 3 minutes)

• FearRP – Act as if your life is in danger (e.g. comply with mugger when outnumbered)

👮 LAW ENFORCEMENT

Q: How do I become a cop?
A: Select a Police job from the F4 menu. Some roles may require a rank or whitelist.

Q: How do I make arrests or warrants?
A: Use your taser to taze them if needed then handcuff them and drag them using the handcuffs in your hand to the arresting npc at pd jail or /warrant <name> <reason> in chat.

Q: Can I randomly arrest or tase people?
A: No. You need valid RP reasons like witnessing a crime.

💸 MONEY & ITEMS

Q: What are printers and how do I use them?
A: Money printers are devices that generate cash over time. Buy them from the F4 menu, place them down, and collect money regularly.

Q: I lost my item! Can I get it back?
A: We only refund items in cases of server-side issues or bugs. We do not refund for deaths, disconnects, or rule breaks unless proof is provided.

Q: Are there VIP jobs or perks?
A: Yes! Type !donate or check the donation tab on the forums for info.

🧰 TECHNICAL ISSUES

Q: I'm getting errors or missing textures!
A: Make sure you have CS:S (Counter-Strike: Source) installed and mounted. You can also download our content pack from the workshop [Workshop Collection].

Q: My game lags/crashes when joining.
A: This may be due to high addons usage. Disable unneeded addons and make sure your GMod is clean. We recommend verifying your game files via Steam.

🎮 MISC

Q: How do I bind a key to a command?
A: Open console (~ key) and type:
bind g say "/advert raiding"
To bind a fading door for buttons:
Can be located in the Fading Doors section

Q: How do I talk in voice chat?
A: Hold V for normal voice chat

Q: How do I contact staff?
A: do /report in chat and select your reason. For questions please select | "Report Player" = Other | "Reason" = Other
